Crystal Powers – Hematite

I’d like to start of by saying I am still sceptical about crystals. I am a lady of science. I like my facts, I like things to be proven unless I experience them myself. So gems and crystals! There’s no doubt that they are pretty to look at. Some of them are absolutely gorgeous and work well in our home décor. Can they help us in life? I suppose nobody really knows for sure but there’s no harm in just having them around you.

My mum first got me into crystals. After my dad died she turned to holistic therapies. At first I wasn’t a big believer, but if that’s what she wanted to do then she’s her own person! After a while she started collecting all these crystals. I was intrigued by their appearance, but hearing her talk about them and how they can benefit us got me even more interested. At the time I was struggling with life in general. I got to a point where I would try anything to make me feel better. So I got into crystals.

I suffered with PTSD, anxiety and depression, but at the time I never realised it. My mum introduced me to a crystal called Hematite. Not one of the prettiest crystals but its appearance is still eye catching. Hematite is a grounding crystal. It helps keep you connected to the Earth and helps keep you balanced, which was what I needed at the time. So I started off with carrying a small Hematite crystal around with me. Honestly, I can’t say I felt a difference. One day I went to the Christmas markets and came across a crystal stall. Oh it was beautiful! They had some Hematite bracelets for sale, so I went ahead a bought one. The next day I tried it on and ended up wearing it all day. Now…I never take my Hematite bracelet off, ever. I can’t say for sure whether it made a improvement or not, but I think it was something that I definitely needed. With my anxiety, it makes me fiddle. When ever I get anxious I have to fiddle with something. It’s how I naturally respond. However I did used to get paranoid because I didn’t want other people realising I was anxious. So I used to take my bracelet off and I would just hold it in my hand and let my fingers play around with it. It would help settle my anxiety. Now I can’t say the Hematite helps my anxiety because it grounds me, because I sometimes use a hair bobble to fiddle with instead. However…the hair bobble doesn’t provide me with the same release of tension as my bracelet does. Call it the Placebo Effect if you may, but there has been times where I haven’t worn my bracelet and I’ve ended up having a right shitter of day, purely because my mind is just somewhere else.

Hematite:

The Hematite crystal meaning is linked with its ability to absorb any toxic emotions that might be holding you back. The crystal works by pulling away any negative energies that might be in your aura and takes them to your root chakra where they can be balanced out. This is why it’s one of the best grounding and balancing crystals. It will leave you with a clean aura and balanced chakras. The crystal is ideal for when you’re meditating, due to it’s balancing effects. It can help clear you of any negative energies and leave you feeling more confident, stronger and ready to take on your day!

Hematite grounds and protects us. It strengthens our connection with Earth making us feel more safe and secure. It is also a excellent cleanser! It cleanses our blood and supports circulation.  The crystal is said to aid the formation of new red blood cells, as it helps the production of blood in bone marrow. Some people like to use it to help heal broken bones or fractures.

Believe what you would like when it comes to crystals and their healing powers. Like I said I am still sceptical. Whether they emit healing energies or not, there’s no doubt that they can make a gorgeous fashion accessory or look stylish in your home. So give them a try and see if they work for you, or just go and treat yourself to a new crystal bracelet!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

Stay positive,

Love you all lots,

Emma xo
